Abbott Drama Seeking Sponsorships for Seussical!
Abbott Middle School Drama Boosters is once again counting on local businesses and community members to help children gain self-esteem and confidence through something as simple as bringing quality musical theater to our middle school.
Their previous shows, Mulan and Into the Woods, were a big success and helped increase the excitement and awareness of the arts in our school. This year they will be performing Seussical the Musical, an imaginative musical that gives a modern twist on a few of Dr. Seuss’s famed storybooks.
Plans are already underway to make this production even better than the last! Students are participating in workshops and rehearsals that will culminate in three performances on May 15th - 17th.
Their goal is to raise $50,000 to help support the Director, Choreographer, Lighting & Design team, Costumer, Make-up/hair team, and Stage Manager so they can produce a quality performance deserving of our Abbott Middle School kids.
Please consider contributing to their success by becoming a sponsor at one of the many giving levels available. Learn more at You can also buy a playbill ad -- which is not only good for businesses but great for family and friends to congratulate or highlight those they know in the play!

8th Grade Promotion News
8GP Parents Night - Thursday, March 19, 2020 from 6-8 pm at the Abbott Gym. Find out what to expect and understand what's required of parents and students for a successful promotion.
Save the Date: The Promotion Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, June 16 at 10 AM.
New for 2020 and beyond:
Students will now be seated flat on the stage. San Mateo Performing Arts Center's risers were recently inspected and deemed unsafe for continued use. Since the San Mateo High School District is no longer using SMPAC for their graduation ceremonies and the trend of growing sizes of middle school promotions (the risers can only accommodate up to 300 people), the District has opted to do away with them entirely. Please keep this in mind when you choose your seats for the promotion ceremony.
8GP packets will be distributed in early spring. Watch out for those coming your way!
