All in for Abbott: PTA Memberships and Donations

This year we are encouraging ALL families to go ALL IN FOR ABBOTT. It’s as easy as 1-2-3.

  1. JOIN -  Become a member and have a voice!

  2. ENGAGE - We invite everyone to attend our meetings, events and activities and welcome all who are interested in helping, too!

  3. SUPPORT - The PTA would not be able to fulfill its mission without the financial support of our generous Abbott community. We thank you in advance for whatever amount you can comfortably give.

Founders' Day PTA Meeting: Tuesday, March 17

Founders’ Day is a yearly PTA event to celebrate the initiation of the PTA in 1893. It is also a chance to give special recognition to individuals who give so much of themselves on behalf of our children. At our PTA Founders’ Day Celebration on Tuesday, March 17, selected individuals will receive a California State PTA Honorary Service Award.

Join us at 7 pm in the Abbott Library for a dessert reception honoring this year's recipients of our Honorary Service Awards.

8th Grade Promotion News

Our next planning meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 19 at 7pm in the Abbott Library. Join us to learn more and take part in planning and staffing the many activities surrounding 8th grade promotion.

New for 2020 and beyond:

Students will now be seated flat on the stage. San Mateo Performing Arts Center's risers were recently inspected and deemed unsafe for continued use. Since the San Mateo High School District is no longer using SMPAC for their graduation ceremonies and the trend of growing sizes of middle school promotions (the risers can only accommodate up to 300 people), the District has opted to do away with them entirely. Please keep this in mind when you choose your seats for the promotion ceremony.

8GP packets will be distributed in early spring. Watch out for those coming your way!

To sign up for alerts and reminders, text "@Abbott8GP" to 81010.

Our Mission

Our mission is to positively impact the lives of all children and families.

The overall purpose of PTA is to MAKE EVERY CHILD’S POTENTIAL A REALITY by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.

The Abbott PTA aligns its goals with those of the California PTA (CAPTA). To learn more about what CAPTA stands for, visit their website.

Specifically, the Abbott PTA advances its mission by supporting school-wide Academic, Sports, Technology, Music, Drama, and Art programs, as well as fulfilling a number of teacher requests to support various classroom programs, fund field trips, and provide classroom supplies and enrichment materials.
